Free tools, provided as is
Color Name Finder offers free tools for naming and converting colors. They are provided as is, without any warranty. We work to keep them correct but cannot promise that every result is error-free or suits your purpose.
Names and codes are not a standard
Color names are conventions that differ between sources, and the codes describe colors on screens. The way a color looks depends on your display and its settings. For printing, paint, textiles and other physical materials, rely on physical samples and the manufacturer's codes, not on a screen color.
Data from other sources
Color names come from the CSS specification, the xkcd Color Survey (CC0) and the Color Names list by David Aerne (MIT License). You may use the colors and codes you find here freely. If you redistribute the name lists themselves, follow their licenses, listed on the about page.
Use of the site
You may use the tools and read the content for personal and commercial purposes free of charge. Please do not scrape the site in bulk or try to disrupt it; the source name lists are available directly from their authors.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from the use of the site, including decisions made on the basis of a color name or code. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the current version is always on this page. Questions: contact@nadzeyayashchuk.com. The publisher is listed in the Impressum.
